A plane crash near the equatorial Amazon rainforest in northern Brazil led to to the tragic death of 14 peopleCNN Brasil reports, citing the prefect of the municipality of Barcelos in the state of Amazonas.

The ill-fated aircraft involved in the incident was an Embraer Bandeirante, which was carrying a total of 12 tourists and 2 crew members. The accident occurred around 14:00 local time (21:00 Moscow time) when the plane was trying to land at an airfield located about 400 km from the administrative center of the state of Manaus. It is worth noting that at the moment of landing in the region it was raining.

The CNN Brasil report did not provide specific details regarding the nationalities or identities of those on board the Embraer flight.
