In the summer of 2023, Finland was at the top of the list of the most popular European countries among Russian tourists, as reported by the Roof of TourDoma Telegram channel. Over the three months of the summer season, 306.9 thousand Russian travelers arrived in Finland.

However In the world ranking of the most visited countries in the summer of 2023, the leadership belongs to Turkey. According to the Russian FSB border service, Russians made 2.3 million trips to Turkey in the summer.
Other popular destinations include ABhazia, where Russians spent 2.1 million trips, and Kazakhstan, which received 1.35 million Russian tourists. Also among the frequently visited countries are mentioned United Arab Emirates (882.7 thousand trips), Egypt (578 thousand), Georgia (387.6 thousand) and China (278.8 thousand).
Earlier it became known about a sharp increase in the number of buses traveling in the direction of China and back at the Pogranichny automobile checkpoint in the Primorsky Territory. This is due to the suspension of the Poltavka checkpoint and the seasonal increase in tourist flow.
