96 percent of tourists are satisfied with the security aspect and 94 percent with residents’ treatment of tourists, according to a study completed by the Ministry of Tourism, according to what Fatima Zahraa Amour, Minister of Tourism, reported today, Monday, in the House of Representatives in the oral questions session.
She added that the road paper prepared by her ministry includes measures to improve Morocco’s image among foreign tourists.
Hamid Al-Nugo, a member of the Social Constitutional Team, held the Ministry of Tourism responsible for what is happening in the tourism sector.
He justified this by considering that the Ministry “is the one that organizes professionals, accompanies guides, conducts training, supervises hotel classification, and can increase the number of tourists.”
The minister refused to be held responsible for the sector alone, noting that tourism is a horizontal sector in which other sectors intervene.
She stated that the Tourism Committee is chaired by the Prime Minister, given that all government sectors are related to the tourism sector.
It is noteworthy that last March, a partnership framework agreement was signed to implement the strategic road map for the tourism sector, with a budget amounting to 6.1 billion dirhams during the period 2023-2026.
This map aims to attract about 17.5 million tourists by 2026, work to achieve 120 billion dirhams in hard currency income by 2026, and create 200,000 new direct and indirect job opportunities by 2026.
To achieve these goals, the approved road map aims to adopt a new vision for the tourism offer centered around the customer experience through 9 thematic chains and 5 horizontal chains.
In addition to developing a plan to double air transport capacity, and enhancing promotion and marketing, with special attention to digitization.
