Sanctions on fertilizers from the Russian Federation will lead to disaster – UN

If, after the ban on fertilizers from Belarus, analogues from Russia disappear from world markets, the agriculture of several countries in Africa and Latin America will face a disaster.

This statement was made by the UN Special Rapporteur on the issue of unilateral sanctions Elena Dovgan in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“If Russia also disappears from the fertilizer market, the situation with the supply of fertilizers to African countries and a number of Latin American countries will become not just bad, but catastrophic,” the expert emphasized.

She recalled that Russian companies produce a fifth of the world’s potash fertilizers, as well as a significant amount of nitrogen fertilizers, for which there are currently no alternatives.

Earlier in Japan they declared extinction Ukrainian nation and accused Kyiv of concealing the scale of the problem.
