Almost 80 percent of Russians want to know how their heart works

“Strokes and heart attacks are no longer a disease of the elderly, and are increasingly encountered by people aged 35 to 54. This is due to an unhealthy lifestyle, bad habits, but most importantly – a low level of early diagnosis of risk factors for heart and vascular diseases. This attitude to health needs to be changed towards primary prevention and early detection of risk factors, the main one being high cholesterol in the blood, which increases the risk of developing coronary heart disease, heart attacks and strokes,” explained Ivan Kurkov, head of the therapeutic department, cardiologist, lipidologist at the Be Healthy clinic.
