A former investigator from the Irkutsk region was sentenced to 22 years in prison in the case of rape and murder of a teenage girl.

According to the Siberian Express publication, ex-investigator Alexei Torop, together with an accomplice, in 2007 raped and killed a 15-year-old girl who was his daughter’s friend.

Torop himself was assigned to investigate the murder case. Years later, a secret witness testified against the former investigator, who saw the girl getting into the car with the investigators.

Later, the investigation revealed 30 crimes related to the sexualized violence of a former employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Torop’s accomplice was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
