Chanel acquires 25% of MB&F shares, which will provide the independent manufacturer with financial stability and will strengthen Chanel's position in the world of high-end watches.
Founder and Creative Director of MB&F Maximilian Büsser said the deal “guarantees the company's survival.” Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2005, MB&F is known for its uniquely designed watches that resemble animals, cars, or spaceships. Despite prices that exceed $100,000, demand for MB&F watches remains high.
The deal with Chanel will allow MB&F to continue to develop and maintain its unique style. For Chanel, in turn, this is an investment in the high-end watch segment, allowing it to expand its influence in this area.
