“Antimatter is the ‘inverse state’ of matter. When they meet, they mutually annihilate. Fortunately, a mysterious physical mechanism led to the asymmetry of only a small amount of matter in the early universe, which is why after most of the matter and antimatter annihilated, about 10% survived, which formed the modern material world,” said Qiu Hao, a research fellow at the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the leader of the research team.
