Experts Assess Chances of Ending “Blind Adherence” to US Sanctions

The Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan stated that his country will not “blindly follow” sanctions against Russia, although it will continue to observe them. RBC asked experts under what conditions friendly countries might refuse to comply with sanctions. The refusal to comply with American sanctions by third countries could occur “evolutionarily” provided that alternative financial and economic systems develop, but this should not be expected in the foreseeable future: the United States still has an almost “monopoly right” to ensure financial transactions.
