On November 20, the Orthodox Church remembers the martyr Theodotus of Ancyra. The day was popularly called Fedot Ledostav because of the fact that by this time the reservoirs are already covered with an ice crust. By the way, icy conditions on the roads are also possible on this day.

Our ancestors also associated some weather signs with ice. For example, if the rivers are already completely frozen, then the winter will be cold and snowy. And if there is icy conditions on Fedot, then frosts will hit in the coming days.

Snow on November 20 indicates imminent warming and flooding in the spring. Clouds on the north side mean frost, and a sunset in the haze means strong winds.

It is also worth paying attention to the behavior of birds. If the roosters crow a lot, and the crows wander one by one and crow towards the south, then the next week will be warm.
