In autumn and winter, it is especially important to pay attention to the immunity of children, since in the cold season the risk of colds and viral diseases is traditionally high. Chief pediatrician of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region, director of the Children’s Research Institute, professor Niso Odinaeva emphasized the need to take precautions and protect children from diseases, according to the department’s press service.

If a family member becomes ill, it is recommended to temporarily limit contact with the child and use a mask at home to reduce the risk of infection. It is also important to pay attention to factors that make a child more vulnerable to infections, such as insufficient sleep, lack of outdoor activity and general fatigue. A healthy diet also plays a significant role, including meat, fish and dairy products, as well as vegetables and fruits.
Professor Odinaeva recommends developing a regular daily routine and sticking to it to provide the child with the necessary walks of at least 30 minutes a day and timely rest. Active games, participation in sports events and physical activity also contribute to strengthening the immune system. The pediatrician concludes that compliance with hygiene rules is also a key aspect – regular hand washing after walks and before eating, wet cleaning of the room at least once a day, and airing the children’s room at least once a day for an hour and a half, reports News of the Moscow region.
