Only Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump can contribute to a peaceful settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, said Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto. That is why, in his opinion, the candidacy of the former American leader should be supported in the upcoming elections, the Telex portal reports.
The head of the Hungarian Foreign Ministry is convinced that both Moscow and Kiev should be forced to negotiate through external pressure, which only the former US President is capable of. He noted that under Trump’s presidency, global security was at a much higher level than under the current head of the White House, Joe Biden.
Earlier, Peter Szijjarto said that Western countries’ arms supplies to Ukraine could not bring a peaceful settlement to the conflict closer, so they can be considered useless. According to the minister, Hungary is ready to participate in all peace initiatives.

He called on those who speak of such threats from Russia to “just think logically,” hinting that such a confrontation would simply be senseless and unprofitable.
