Hurricane hits Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region

Some of the videos published by the publication show a hurricane. Many of them were recorded in the city of Tosno in the Leningrad Region. Several cars were damaged in the city due to bad weather, some of them overturned due to strong winds. The footage also shows torn off road barriers, parts of roofs of houses and outbuildings.

According to Fontanka, the region was hit by Cyclone Otilia. Streets and public transport in St. Petersburg are flooded due to heavy rain. According to the publication, some of the city’s fountains are also out of order because the storm drains “cannot cope” with the volume of precipitation. One of the vestibules of the Ploshchad Vosstaniya metro station was closed for a while due to the bad weather. On Bolshevikov Avenue, the wind overturned a truck.
