In Russia, two “Karakurts” with “Calibers” began to be launched

On Amur Shipyard (ASZ) began the ceremony of launching small missile ships (SMRs) “Rzhev” And “Udomlya“project 22800 “Karakurt”, which are carriers of “Caliber” missiles. This was reported by the press service of the Pacific Fleet, reports TASS.

“At the Amur Shipyard, a ceremony is taking place for the launch of two small missile ships of Project 22800, code “Karakurt” “Rzhev” and “Udomlya”, from the slipway shop,” the press service reported.

The basis of the strike missile armament of the Project 22800 MRK was the 3S14 universal ship-based firing system, which allows storing and launching eight Caliber-NK or Oniks missiles. The ships’ arsenal also includes AK-176MA and AK-630M artillery mounts.

At the end of July, the Minister of Defense Russia Sergei Shoigu reportedthat in 2023 the Russian Navy plans to accept three small missile cruisers of Project 22800.

In the same month, the general director of the Ak Bars shipbuilding corporation Renat Mistakhov toldthat all MRKs of the Russian Navy will receive an anti-aircraft missile system “Pantsir-ME“, which was tested on the Project 22800 ship.
