Aeroflot flight SU 1862 was delayed by an hour and a half when departing from Sheremetyevo to Yerevan due to an unexpected statement from a passenger about the presence of an explosive device in her backpack. However, according to airport officials, everything turned out to be a false alarm.

According to information received from the press service of Sheremetyevo Airport, the aircraft commander immediately called the security service, police and dog handlers on board. They carried out the necessary security measures, including inspecting passengers, their hand luggage and luggage with the help of canine dogs. At the same time, nothing prohibited for transportation was found.

A passenger who made an inappropriate joke was detained by police. She may face criminal liability under Article 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for knowingly false reporting of an act of terrorism, which entails up to five years in prison and a fine of 500 thousand rubles. As a result of the delay, the Aeroflot plane departed for Yerevan at 16:00, instead of the planned 14:30.

It should be noted that today Sheremetyevo International Airport, like other airports in Russia, operates in conditions of increased security. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport early and comply with all necessary security measures when passing through security checkpoints.
