On Saturday, September 16, the leader of the DPRK continued to visit Vladivostok. So I called the head of the region Oleg Kozhemyako again.
… – Oleg Nikolaevich, I wanted to know whether the distinguished guest, Comrade Kim Jong-un, had or will have a cultural program? Primorye is a cultural region for us. And Vladivostok is a cultural city. Am I saying this correctly?
– How can we do without a cultural program for our guests and neighbors?
That evening the ballet “The Sleeping Beauty” was being shown on the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky Theater. Our distinguished guest was invited to the performance.
– The program was probably in both Russian and Korean?
– Yes, and, of course, we prepared such a program – in two languages: there was a brief description of the action, characters and performers.
The guest really liked this performance. Kim Jong-un highly appreciated the skill of our artists.
It seems to me that our ballet stage masters did not disappoint.
Moreover, we are now even thinking about how to make sure that the DPRK can become acquainted with Russian ballet.

– So, you mean that the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theater can “go” to the DPRK on tour?
– We are currently looking into this issue. We have such a desire.
– Great. Were there a lot of people at the performance that the Korean leader came to watch?
– We always have a full house here.
And in St. Petersburg, when our troupe performs, too.
And on September 26 and 27, the production of “A Thousand and One Nights” by the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theater will be shown at the Bolshoi Theater.
All tickets have already been sold out.
We have good artists who stage performances. Eldar Aliyev, our chief choreographer and artistic director, staged many performances.
We are among the leading ballet companies in our country.

– How great! How did the audience this Saturday greet the leader of the DPRK who came to the performance?
– The audience warmly greeted Comrade Kim Jong-un. Very hot. Applause, cheers. And it was just wonderful. It’s spontaneous and wonderful.
Such a sincere attitude of the residents of Primorye towards the Korean leader, towards his policies, towards our fraternal Korean people… It came from the heart.
– How did the guest react to such stormy greetings?
– Very kindly, he also warmly greeted everyone. And he smiled. And he said thank you very much.
