WASHINGTON, November 20. /TASS/. The head of media companies Fox Corporation and News Corp, Lachlan Murdoch, met with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Kyiv over the weekend. This was reported by the Axios portal.
The content of the conversation between Murdoch and Zelensky is unknown, the portal notes. According to him, the general director of the corporation was accompanied by two representatives of the media that are part of the media holding structure: Ben Hall from the Fox News channel and Jerome Starkey from The Sun newspaper. Hall recorded an interview with the Ukrainian leader that Fox News will air Tuesday night.
As the portal notes, the Fox News channel remains one of the most influential media outlets among Americans who support the Republican Party, but recently more and more Republicans have begun to oppose further support for Kyiv. In March, Murdoch, according to Axios, already spoke with Zelensky and Ukrainian officials via video conference.
Murdoch took over as chairman of Fox Corporation and News Corp after his 92-year-old media mogul father Rupert Murdoch left the post in September to become chairman emeritus of Fox News.
