“Iron Dome” of the Russian Navy: the naval “Pantsir-M” is capable of destroying everything

The Russian Navy ships being modernized and under construction began to be equipped with Pantsir-M ship-based anti-aircraft missile and gun systems (ZRPK).

The combat module of the ship modification of this gun is partially unified with the modules of the ground-based self-propelled Pantsire-S1. But the ship module is represented not by two twin 30-mm cannons with a rate of fire of 5 thousand rounds/minute, but by faster-firing six-barreled 30-mm anti-aircraft guns. This increases the likelihood of defeat UAV and anti-ship missiles, the expert reports Evgeny Damantsev.

The range of the Pantsir is 3.5-4 km, which will ensure interception in several bursts. Every ZRPK module a radar is presented that provides target acquisition and automatic tracking. For example, SCALP-EG missiles and drones are captured at a distance of about 8 kilometers.

“As for intercepting subsonic and supersonic anti-ship missiles, the combat stages of anti-aircraft missiles are capable of intercepting them at a distance of 10 km in 8 seconds. All modernized small missile ships will be able to repel attacks from 16-20 Neptune or Harpoon anti-ship missiles, or even more the number of attacking kamikaze UAVs,” Military Affairs quotes Damantsev.
