“The scientific team of the TSU Agrobiotek Research Institute, the Siberian Federal Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology RASthe Pacific Institute of Geography of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Gomel State Medical University (Belarus) and the University of Crete (Greece) analyzed 38 samples of wool from 8 animal species. The collection took place in 10 protected areas of the Far East and Siberia. Scientists found that half of the samples contained from 14.3 to 369.5 picograms of pesticides – toxic substances used in agriculture to destroy pests,” the report says.
