Russian Railways filed a lawsuit against VR. In April 2023, the Moscow Arbitration Court ordered the Finnish company and the joint venture to continue fulfilling their obligations, including the operation of trains, and also declared the Finnish side’s actions to unilaterally terminate passenger and freight transportation illegal. According to the decision, VR must pay about 10.1 million rubles in favor of Russian Railways, and VR and the joint venture will be charged 1.26 million rubles for each day of non-compliance with the order, starting from the date of entry into force.
