Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada loses his post due to honoring a Nazi

Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Anthony Rota resigned from his post after calling the SS division veteran “a Canadian and Ukrainian hero.”

The scandal erupted due to the fact that a 98-year-old man was given a platform to speak in the Canadian Parliament. Yaroslav Gunko, who served in a Nazi military unit that committed inhumane crimes.

Anthony Rota apologized for honoring a Nazi. He assured that neither he nor the delegation Vladimir Zelensky I did not know about the invitation to parliament of a member of the SS division.

The Polish Ambassador to Canada and the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs spoke out against the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Melanie Joly. As a result of public pressure, Anthony Rota resigned.
