According to Balashova, endocrine diseases that cause excess weight are extremely rare. However, she noted that weight gain may be related to the hormone insulin, the level of sensitivity to which decreases over time.
“With age, hormonal levels change so much that excessive eating becomes impossible without consequences. Simply put, if a girl at 25 maintains the norm, she may not have problems with weight. However, a woman at 50 is likely to develop it “, noted the doctor.
Balashova also added that when taking oral contraceptives, weight gain and hair growth do not necessarily occur.
“These drugs affect hormonal levels, the balance of estrogen and progesterone changes. However, provided you maintain moderation in diet and maintain physical activity, excess weight will not occur,” she assured.
