“This incident in the Canadian Parliament is unacceptable, as the Canadian government has made clear,” the diplomat said.

According to him, the German ambassador, who was present at an event in the Canadian Parliament that day, “was not aware of Hunka’s true identity, namely that he was a member of the SS.”

Previously in Russian Foreign Ministry statedthat Canada’s ties to the Nazis will affect bilateral relations. “Ottawa’s flirtations with the Nazis and systematic hostile attacks will not remain without consequences,” said a foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
