Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of Russia, Maksut Shadayevexpressed optimism about the situation with the WhatsApp messenger in the country, TASS reports.

Earlier, WhatsApp representatives announced the upcoming introduction of a channel creation feature in the application. This feature will be available in 150 countries and will allow users to receive updates on topics that interest them while maintaining their privacy. Subsequently, Roskomnadzor warned of a possible blocking of WhatsApp in Russia if channels with prohibited information are available on it.
Maksut Shadayev commented on the situation with the messenger, expressing confidence that “everything will be fine.”
Earlier, Vladimir Zykov, project director of the Digital Platforms ANO, urged Russians not to delete WhatsApp from their devices due to a possible blocking in Russia.
