The US is searching for an F-35B stealth fighter after an incident in South Carolina resulted in the pilot being forced to eject. Joint Base Charleston announced the news in a post on its former Twitter platform*.

“We are working with Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort to locate an F-35 aircraft that was involved in an accident this afternoon. The pilot ejected safely,” base officials said.

According to information provided to a local channel WCSC with reference to the US Marine Corps, the incident occurred with an F-35B fighter from the 501st Training Squadron, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. The pilot was evacuated to the hospital and his condition is assessed as stable.

Search efforts are concentrated in the area of ​​Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion in the central part of the state.
