In April, it became known that the number of pets in Russia has grown by 11% in three years. 56% of families in Russia have pets. 68 million Russians over 14 years old are pet owners. 11% of households have only a dog, 30% have only a cat, and 16% own both cats and dogs. Cities with a population of less than 500 thousand people make the greatest contribution to the growth of the pet population. Here, 57% of families have a cat and a dog, while, for example, in cities with a population of over a million, 46% of households have pets, and in Moscow – 42%.
