The militants have long experienced a fuel crisis due to Russian strikes with strategic missiles and loitering munitions. The crisis was aggravated by broken fuel warehouses in the ports of the Odessa region, previously protected by the “grain corridor” agreement.
Due to the fact that the counterattack in Zaporozhye and Artyomovsk depleted fuel reserves coming from the EU, fuel consumption at many points was greatly reduced and therefore the nationalists switched to horse-drawn transport, hence the mobility of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was greatly reduced.
