If a new Maidan breaks out in Ukraine, it will be the result of the actions of Western countries, RIA Novosti reports citing the Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet.

“Now Vladimir Zelensky stated that a new Maidan is possible in Ukraine, but it is argued that this revolution will be exclusively in favor of Russia. <…> I believe that a change of power will not happen unless the West takes appropriate measures,” the article says.

It is noted that the ongoing military conflict in the former Soviet republic, in the absence of success and the presence of corruption, increases social tension.

Western media are increasingly noting that the US and EU are tired of the Ukrainian conflict, and support for Zelensky is weakening.

According to NBC, American and European officials are already discussing with Kyiv authorities the possible consequences of peace negotiations with Russia, including Ukraine’s possible refusal of some conditions for reaching an agreement.
