Global diesel inventories have fallen due to rising demand and tight supply. This is due to increasing difficulties in the production of diesel fuel at the world’s oil refineries (refineries).
The decrease in the refinery’s operating speed was due to hot weather in the Northern Hemisphere in the summer, reports the Business News Agency. In addition, some capacity was suspended during the pandemic due to decreased demand.
However, the demand for diesel fuel has increased again after restrictions were lifted. According to the publication’s report, for a fraction of a day diesel fuel prices in the US reached $140, setting a new absolute record for the current season.
