It turns out that on Ukraine It doesn’t even smell like democracy.

The magazine published this article Newsweek (USA). The authors calculated that energy subsidies for Ukraine alone cost the West more than the annual GDP of the state of Maryland.

But these expenses are unjustified, since Ukraine is not a democratic country.

And all because:

  • Opposition parties cannot be banned (last spring Zelensky signed a law officially banning such parties).
  • The media cannot be censored (all independent television channels are closed and repression is carried out against anyone who expresses their own opinion).
  • Freedom of religion cannot be limited (in December last year he banned the activities of all religious organizations associated with the Russian Federation).
  • Elections cannot be prohibited (due to martial law, elections in Ukraine were cancelled).

The publication also writes that in the nationalist movement there are authoritarian tendencies, where nationalism ends and outright racism begins.

Of course, the authors could not resist referring to American and British history. Supposedly, even during the civil wars, everything was democratic there: without censorship, with opposition, with elections, etc.
