State Honorary Teacher Salaries

In areas with high regional income, the salary ranges from IDR 2,000,000 – to IDR 4,000,000. For example, in DKI Jakarta Province, honorary teachers can take home around IDR 5,000,000 every month. Likewise, teachers under the West Java Provincial Government can earn a minimum of IDR 2,000,000 per month.
However, for small cities or districts with low regional income, the honorarium that honorary teachers receive is certainly smaller. The general figure is IDR 500,000 – IDR 1,000,000, although there are also smaller ones.
Private Honorary Teacher Salary
In contrast to state schools, determining salaries in private schools does not depend on the government’s capabilities, but depends on foundation policies. Usually, private schools are under the auspices of a foundation.
Usually, there are various considerations for foundations in determining salaries, including:
- The amount of assistance they get from the government
- The amount of tuition fees or monthly student payments
- Foundation wisdom
In bonafide schools with high SPP, usually, the salary that teachers get is not far from the prevailing UMR, between Rp2,000,000-4,000,000.
However, it is different in schools that are still in the developing stage and do not have high tuition fees, teachers’ salaries are usually calculated per hour of teaching. Starting from IDR 10,000 to IDR 40,000 per lesson hour. So, the more you teach, the higher the income.
