According to the doctor, the signal that an organ needs to be checked is drowsiness, lethargy and apathy.
“Other symptoms of hypothyroidism are swelling on the face, weight gain. But this can be a maximum of one and a half to two kilograms, this should not be confused with obesity,” the endocrinologist explained to Sputnik radio.
However, a problem with the thyroid gland can also be caused by an excess amount of hormones produced by the organ. So, according to the doctor, if a patient has increased anxiety, hand tremors, sweating, then it is also worth undergoing an examination.
“The eyes are bulging, the neck is enlarged. There may be tachycardia, arrhythmia. And, of course, mood swings,” the endocrinologist summarized.
