Being in old age (according to different estimates, Mary was 57, 69 or 72 years old), the Mother of God ascended there again, and during the prayer that “to quickly depart from the body and enter to God,” the Archangel Gabriel descended to her. From him she received an olive branch from Paradise and the news that her life’s journey would end in three days and she would “depart to Christ God.”
