Official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova made her comments on the article by the head of the diplomatic department of the European Union (EU) Josep Borrell entitled “In the Eye of the Storm” and drew attention to the possible erotic overtones.

“I left the analysis of the imagination of the European Union speechwriters for dessert. This time there is not a cherry on the cake, but a strawberry,” noted the Foreign Ministry representative.

Zakharova drew attention to the title of the article, which is associated with the 1970s erotic film “In the Eye of the Hurricane” (Spanish title El ojo del huracán), filmed in Borrell’s native Spain and released when he was 24 years old.

“According to the plot of the movie, a young and rich woman, Ruth, decides to divorce her caring husband Michel because she became interested in the erotomaniac Paul. After this, they want to kill Ruth and periodically rape her. It would seem, what does Ukraine have to do with it?” – added the diplomat.
