Many gardeners are faced with the fact that cucumbers begin to grow in the shape of a pear. This indicates an imbalance of nitrogen and potassium in the soil: perhaps an excess of the former and a deficiency of the latter. To restore balance, it is recommended to water the plants with an infusion of ash (take half a liter of ash per 10 liters of water, let the solution steep for one day). The ash contains the necessary potassium in an easily accessible form and, in addition, improves the alkalinity of the soil. Nutrients begin better absorbed by plantswrites the Zen channel “Sadoezh”.

Gardeners also recommend stopping nitrogen fertilizing if the cucumbers have begun to grow in the form of a pear.
