Csath graduated from the Marx Károly University of Economics in 1966, and studied applied mathematics at the Eötvös Loránd University in 1967-68. In 1969, he won the national competition “Fiatalok Közgazdasági Versenye” ​​organized by Hungarian television. In 1972-73 he completed the MBA program at the London Business School (England).

Magdolna Csath received the middle cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit. He was a candidate of MIÉP in the 2002 parliamentary elections.
