The early hours of this Friday morning, follow-up to Saeed Al-Nasiri, President of Wydad Sports Club, being arrested, along with Abdel Nabi Baaiwi, President of the Eastern Region of the Kingdom, against the backdrop of the “Escobar of the Desert” case.

The judge decided to follow up on 23 people out of 25 accused involved in the case in detention, and ordered them to be placed in prison, including Al-Nasiri and Baawi. He also decided to continue the detailed investigation with them until Friday.

This comes after the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal in the city of Casablanca decided to refer the defendants to the attention of the investigating judge with a motion to commit 20 defendants to the local prison of Oukacha, among these defendants, Saeed Naciri and Bayoui.

The Public Prosecution also decided to return the case of 4 defendants to the judicial police in order to deepen the investigation.

The French newspaper “Jeune Afrique” revealed the file last summer, after publishing the full story of Oscar Sahara, who has been detained since 2019, and who accused several prominent political figures of seizing his property in devious ways, taking advantage of his presence in prison.

This prompted the competent Public Prosecution to give its orders to the National Judicial Police Squad, which listened to the accused for months.
