On August 16, the court left the alleged perpetrators of the terrorist attack, Muhammadsobir Faizov, Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Murodali Rachabalizoda, and Shamsidin Fariduni, in pretrial detention until November 22. They were also given tougher charges and charged with participating in a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). On August 19, the court also extended the arrest of four more defendants in the case: Nazrimad Lutfulloi, Jumakhon Kurbonov, Yakubdzhoni Yusufzoda, and Mukhammad Sharipzoda.
