Jose Maria Basoa and Andres Martinez AdasmeThese are the names of the two Spaniards arrested by the Bolivarian regime during a police operation, which was explained this Saturday by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello.
The Spanish citizens, aged 35 and 32, have been arrested in Puerto Ayacucho (South Amazonas) and are linked “directly” to the “Spanish National Intelligence Center” -“although they will later deny it,” he said, as well as assuring that “they are making statements”- and they are accused of participating in a plan to “generate violence” and “destabilize” the country.
Spanish government sources have denied to ABC that the two arrested “are not members of the CNI.” The Foreign Ministry, however, has not confirmed any of the information released by Caracas, according to a report Angie Calero.
Cabello has assured that together with the CIA they planned to assassinate Maduro, Delcy Rodríguez and himself. He also accuses them a plan to assassinate the mayor of UpataYulisbeth Garcia.
According to the Bolivarian minister, these alleged spies would have to generate violence in the country in order to “destabilize” it.
“The National Intelligence Centre of Spain is promoting the recruitment of terrorists to come to Venezuela,” he said, adding that they had contacted “French mercenaries.”
“These two captured men say so, they even speak of a group of mercenaries who are looking to bring them to Venezuela, with different objectives,” Cabello said.
Missing person alert

Two profiles on Linkedin
Under these names there are two profiles on Linkedin, both from Bilbao. Basoa's profile states that he is a “senior technician in the installation, repair and maintenance of gas, heating, plumbing and climate control installations” with experience in Spain and Germany.
Martínez Adasme's, much less complete, simply states that he is from Bilbao and that he is an unemployed person looking for opportunities.
Macro operation against opponents and agents
Their arrests have taken place within the framework of a gigantic operation against the Venezuelan opposition in which 400 rifles have been seized -who according to Cabello come from the USA- and two other American citizens have been arrested, linked, according to the regime, to the CIA and another Czech citizen.
In addition, “terrorists” who were planning to “throw grenades” at the Argentine embassy were reportedly arrested.
