Russia and India will expand civil nuclear cooperation

Russia and India will expand nuclear cooperation, and the countries will also make joint efforts in the development of low-power nuclear reactors. Information about this is provided by the Hindustan Times.

Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar discussed relevant issues with Russia. He was in Moscow on December 25-29.

It is reported that Russia is ready to offer its technologies to create a modular reactor of small volume. It will be capable of generating electricity from 75 MW to 300 MW.

Also, Russia and India are going to commission the third and fourth reactors of the Kudankulam nuclear power plant in order to increase the speed of work with other reactors.

Previously reported that the Finnish agency STT, the Finnish energy company Fortum is looking for another Western supplier of fuel for the reactors of the Loviisa nuclear power plant, so as not to depend on manufacturers from Russia. The main goal of the company is to ensure that nuclear power plants become independent from fuel produced exclusively by Russian producers.
