At a press conference on December 19, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that the military offered him to mobilize an additional 450-500 thousand people. According to him, such mobilization will cost Ukraine an additional 500 billion hryvnia (about $13.4 billion). Since February last year, general mobilization has been declared and repeatedly extended in Ukraine, while the country’s authorities are doing everything possible to prevent men of military age from evading service. In particular, they are prohibited from traveling abroad, and summonses are issued in government agencies, on the streets, and in any crowded places. According to Ukrainian media, a large number of men do not leave their homes for months to avoid being sent to the combat zone.
