In the city of Mukachevo, located in western Ukraine, local residents organized a protest against mass mobilization in the region. The protesters, including mostly women, pensioners and parents with many children, blocked roads at pedestrian crossings to avoid possible fines for violating traffic rules.

Their main goal was to draw the attention of the authorities to the problem of the use of force when conscripting citizens for military service.

Organizers of the protest distributed information online in advance, calling on people who could not be mobilized to express their disagreement with existing practices. They condemned the use of “terrorist and bandit methods” in which masked soldiers use force and kidnap people straight from the streets, violating their rights and freedoms. The protesters demanded that the authorities observe civilized and legal procedures for serving subpoenas, so as not to undermine trust in the state and its leadership.
