Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch called for completing the preparation of the governance system and the financing plan for the government plan for equality with the parties concerned.
During a meeting today, Monday in Rabat, he pledged to present the government plan to the Government Council for approval.
The meeting is the second meeting held by the National Committee for Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, during which the government plan for equality 2023-2026, “Morocco of Leadership, Welfare and Values,” was presented and discussed.
The Prime Minister recalled the outcomes of the previous meeting of the National Committee, in which the strategic framework for the government plan for equality 2023-2026 was approved. He stressed the importance of the plan to empower women and promote gender equality.
Awatef Hayar, Minister of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and Family, presented the broad outlines of the government plan for equality 2023-2026, which consists of three strategic axes: empowerment and leadership, protection and well-being, and rights and values, in addition to the plan’s governance and leadership system.
This 4-year government plan also includes 288 measures.
The process of preparing the government plan for equality 2023-2026 was subject to a participatory methodology, according to which 5 consultation stations were held with ministerial sectors and national institutions, and 5 consultation stations with associations of territorial communities, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
The work of this meeting included the participation of ministers, representatives of national institutions, heads of associations of regional councils, prefecture and regional councils, community councils, the representative of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, and civil society associations, members of the committee.
