The journalist argued that recent proceedings brought by District Attorney Amy Sweezy in Hennepin County “conclusively showed” that the policeman did not cause Floyd’s death.
Carlson pointed to the official autopsy report, which said George Floyd, a 46-year-old African American man, died due to past drug use and a lethal concentration of fentanyl in his blood.
He also emphasized that Americans were so convinced that Floyd was strangled by a police officer that they rallied in mass protests under the banner of the Black Lives Matter movement.
According to Carlson, the prosecutor Sweezy claimed that autopsy expert Andrew Baker lied about the results because they were inconsistent with public opinion.
“Essentially, everyone misled the public from the very beginning. Those who were privy to the truth hid it, allowing the revolution to continue,” Carlson concluded.
