Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov expressed concerns about the use of cryptocurrencies within the country due to a lack of regulatory control.

“We cannot ban the circulation of cryptocurrencies. Therefore, we need to regulate this direction,” the minister said.

In order to find solutions and identify possible scenarios for using cryptocurrencies for domestic and international payments, the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Russia agreed to hold a meeting to discuss issues related to cryptocurrency mining, RBC reports.

At this meeting it is planned to discuss the possibility of using mining results for making payments both within the country and abroad. According to the minister, both sides are inclined to the idea of ​​using cryptocurrencies for international payments. However, regarding internal payments, various options for prohibitions and restrictions are being considered.
