The plant is also known as golden lily of the valley or Chinese lantern. Sandersonia can reach a height of about 60 cm. Its lanceolate leaves are bright green in color, and the flowers are orange-golden tones, reports the Zen channel “Landscape Design”.
In the central part of the country, sandersonia is usually grown as a perennial, when the bulbs are removed from the soil for the winter. However, before being planted in open ground, it is first grown in pots. It is also possible to grow sandersonia as a houseplant, which can be taken out into the open air in the summer.
For this vine you should choose a sunny place, protected from drafts. The soil should be loose, fertile and well-drained.
Water your sandersonia regularly, but do not over-water the soil. Mineral fertilizers are usually applied before planting and before flowering begins.
In garden design, sandersonia can be used as an expressive accent to decorate a seating area, and its unusual flowers are ideal for making beautiful bouquets and can last up to three weeks in a vase.
