During the winter season, many car owners are faced with the problem of increased fuel consumption caused by prolonged engine warm-up, operation of the heater and electrical appliances, as well as the condition of the road surface. However, there are methods to significantly reduce consumption. Experts from abroad share recommendations for this purpose.

The first recommended action is to avoid warming up the engine for a long time, as there is enough time to clear the snow from the windows. The second is to avoid sudden acceleration, gradually picking up speed after the start.
It is also important to regularly clear snow from the body so as not to increase drag and, as a result, fuel consumption. Excess weight, including a roof rack, can also increase consumption.
Another recommendation is to choose low viscosity oil and use a car blanket to keep the engine warm.
