More than half a ton of shera was seized at the Guerguerat crossing – Today 24

A joint security operation between members of the National Security and Customs at the Guerguerat crossing, south of the city of Dakhla, this afternoon, Friday, December 29, resulted in the abort of an attempt to smuggle a drug shipment weighing 569 kilograms of Shera, which was on board an international goods transport truck registered in Morocco.

The aforementioned truck was subjected to a thorough inspection by trained dogs, which resulted in the discovery of 569 kilograms of Shera, hidden and wrapped within the protective panels of a shipment of food products.
The driver of the truck used in the attempt to smuggle the seized drugs, who is a 53-year-old Moroccan citizen, was arrested and subjected to judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution, in order to uncover all the circumstances and circumstances of this case, as well as monitor the extensions of these criminal acts, whether Within Morocco or at the regional and international levels.
This joint operation falls within the framework of the intensive and continuous efforts made by the various security services at the Guerguerat crossing, south of the city of Dakhla, to combat international smuggling of drugs and psychotropic substances, and to monitor and combat all forms of transnational crime.
