Permyak jailed for three years for fraudulent scheme with maternity capital

The Leninsky District Court of Perm sentenced a local resident convicted of embezzling 5.6 million rubles. The man organized a fraudulent scheme, involving women who submitted deliberately false documents to the Social Fund and the Civil Registry Office.

Fictitious certificates were used to conclude fictitious real estate transactions, followed by cashing out maternity capital. Between 2019 and 2022, members of the group stole more than 5.6 million rubles, reports properm.ru.

Permyak was found guilty under Article 159.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud in receiving payments on a large scale) and sentenced to three years in prison in a general regime correctional colony. He is also obliged to compensate damage in the amount of 5.6 million rubles in favor of the Branch of the Pension and Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation in the Perm Territory.
