In a short time, the number of retired teachers has increased greatly: a total of 6,288 retired teachers are currently working in public education institutions, this number was 4,342 in the 2022/2023 school year.
Last fall, the Ministry of the Interior told the newspaper that in the 2022/2023 school year, 2,479 pensioners were employed as public servants in teaching positions, and the number of retired teaching teachers was 1,863. This means that a total of 4,342 retired teachers worked in the previous school year.
The number of teachers working in public education is nearly 122,000, that is, 5 percent of them are already working as pensioners.
